ENSEMBLES

WILLIAM CEPEDA AFRO-RICAN JAZZ

This 8 piece group incorporates a contemporary jazz perspective with musical and cultural traditions of his homeland, Puerto Rico. The group includes horns, piano, bass, drums and percussion.

GRUPO AFROBORICUA

This 10 piece group celebrates the heritage of Puerto Rico, including its African roots, and explores the traditional music genres-bomba, plena and verso negro particularly from the areas of Loiza, Santurce, Ponce and Mayaguez. The group includes drums, percussion and dancers.


THE LATIN GROOVERS

This sextet fuses jazz tradition with a contemporary flavor that blends the different styles of funk, HIP HOP, R&B, JAZZ, CARIBBEAN, and world music. The group includes trombone, guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, DJ, rapper, hiphop singer.


WILLIAM CEPEDA QUARTET

This is a very experimental group that fuses traditional jazz with world music, music from the Caribbean and more. The group includes trombone, shells & percussion, piano & zynth, bass, drums.


DIFERENTRES

This trio fuses a mix of World, Caribbean & Jazz music. All the members play multiple instruments during each song as the rythms change from classical through world to main stream jazz.


BOMBASHE

This 13 piece group that plays the music from Puerto Rico and the Caribbean with a more commercial sound that makes you dance. A blend of pop and Caribbean music for every body to enjoy. The group includes singers, horns, drums, bass, piano, percussion, guitar.Optional dancers.



EDUCATIONAL RESIDENCIES



William Cepeda is an experienced and dedicated educator who welcomes opportunities to present workshops, master classes and/or clinics for students, professional musicians and children. Topics include: trombone, conch shells, percussion, composition, Latin music, Jazz theory and improvisation.
